John Kelleher’s role is to lead Plan International Australia’s three-person Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) team in the management of the program portfolio across three regions: Asia, Pacific and Region of East & Southern Africa (RESA). John is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the WASH Program, ensuring quality processes and outcomes for projects, and leading on funding identification and proposal development. John is also responsible for managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the Australian Government, and for representing Plan International Australia in the WASH sector, including as an Executive Committee member of the WASH Reference Group.

John has a Master's Degree in Community Water Supply and in Land & Water Management, and graduate qualifications in Geography. He has been working in the International Development sector for almost 25 years.

John began his development career working on rural water supply projects in the Solomon Islands and has also managed programs in the Pacific, Africa and Asia. He was previously the Pacific Regional Manager for Oxfam Australia and has worked in both Development and Emergency Response WASH programs.
