Barbara’s story – my extended family: 17 children and counting
During that time, she has fed and educated 17 children as a child sponsor.
“Food is the most important thing, especially for children. You cannot learn on an empty stomach.”
Her most memorable moments with Plan International occurred while visiting one of her sponsored children in Indonesia.
“We drove into the mountains for an hour to find her village. We went to her school, sang some songs, and then went to her house where she was living with her siblings, her father and two grandmothers.
“In her particular village, the community wanted a bridge across a small ravine so they could go to market. This one little bridge saved hours.”
Barbara could see the impact of this bridge and the school within her sponsored child’s community. They would not exist without Plan International and sponsors like her.
That is why she wanted to leave a gift in her Will to Plan International Australia.
Barbara has already given so many children decent food, clean water and an education. Who knows how many she will feed and educate in the future, through the gift in her Will.
“I just feel that the work Plan International does is very valuable for children in very poor countries.”
Barbara is a Champion for Gifts in Wills to the Food for Life Investment Fund. Will you join her in leaving a gift that feeds and educates tomorrow’s children?
