You can help create a fairer and safer world for all children.

Philanthropic support from our valued donors, trusts, foundations and private ancillary funds is incredibly important to us. It allows us to access significant funding from global institutional partners. We do this by leveraging your philanthropic support into large project grants – turning every $1 into $2.5. We are an accredited partner of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) for delivering effective and transformative international aid and development programs. We also partner with a range of major institutions, including the United Nations World Food Program (WFP), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Asian Development Bank and the Gates Foundation.

Our donors have supported our progressive programs in these key areas:

  • Education and early childhood development
  • Gender equality and support for girls’ rights
  • Water, sanitation, and hygiene
  • Famine and food relief
  • Emergency humanitarian aid

With the help of our philanthropic supporters, Plan International’s work benefits more than 40 million children every year in 77 countries. To learn more about the impact we are having globally, you can view our Annual Reports and Research Publications.

Opportunities to support our work

Your philanthropic contribution can help Plan International Australia to deliver more sustainable and life-changing programs worldwide. Currently, we are seeking support for our flagship initiative:

Girls’ Education & Empowerment Fund

We know that you share the same dream – a world where every child can thrive, and where girls can take their rightful place as equals. Yet right now, children and their families are still facing food shortages, displacement, and living in poverty. Millions of girls are denied their right to an education, and are held back from reaching their full potential.

Plan International recognises the crucial role educating girls plays in creating change.

The Girls’ Education & Empowerment Fund is a rolling match fund that aims to supercharge investment into initiatives that help remove the barriers girls face to education. This supports girls with the opportunity to choose the life they want to live.

To educate girls is to reduce poverty. By elevating the opportunities available to girls, we can uplift entire communities, because educated girls are more likely to:

  • Invest back in their community
  • Invest in the health and welfare of future generations
  • Avoid child marriage and underage pregnancy
