An opportunity exists for a youth candidate to join the Marketing and Growth Commitee of the Plan International Australia Board.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute your fundraising, marketing and brand expertise to one of Australia’s leading not-for-profit organisations dedicated to children’s rights and gender equality.
Working alongside Board Directors, committee expert advisors and the PIA leadership team, you will support and advise the committee on matters related to growing our income and advancing our brand. An ideal opportunity for someone keen to grow their governance and leadership experience, the role provides a meaningful opportunity to contribute your strategic insight and expertise to an organisation creating significant impact in children’s lives.
About Plan International Australia
As one of the oldest, largest and most experienced organisations in our field, we know that
there is nowhere in the world where girls are treated as equals. We work alongside children, young people, supporters and partners to tackle the root causes of the injustices facing girls and the most marginalised children. Plan International Australia is a member of a global federation and is a secular and independent development and humanitarian organisation.
About you
We are looking for a youth candidate to join our MGC and contribute to our strategy and vision. We welcome young people aged 18-28 to apply, who bring professional experience in fundraising, marketing and/or brand strategy, and the confidence and passion to bring your perspectives into the MGC. An appreciation of the dynamics of the not-for-profit sector would also be beneficial.
We encourage candidates who bring lived experience of the issues we work on, particularly in the Pacific or South-East Asia, although this is not a requirement.
About the role
The role of the Marketing and Growth Committee (MGC) is to monitor and advise our Board on matters to do with the organisation’s fundraising, brand and public engagement, in order to maximise our income and engagement for impact.
As an independent member on the MGC, you will participate in approximately five meetings per year. Meeting participation can be online although in-person participation in Melbourne may be preferred on occasion. The role is voluntary and unpaid, in line with all board and committee roles at PIA, however expenses for participation are covered. Independent members are appointed for a period of two years, with the option of extension upon review.
How to apply for this role?
Plan International Australia is committed to an inclusive workplace culture that embraces and celebrates equality and diversity. We welcome applications from a variety of backgrounds and personal attributes because we believe diverse opinions, mindsets, backgrounds and lived experiences will enrich our work with communities and partners across the globe.
We encourage people from different backgrounds to apply, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and those living in South Pacific countries.
