Plan International Australia CEO Susanne Legena has recognised today’s landmark court decision for justice for survivors of sexual abuse in Australia.

“Today we finally saw justice for the survivors of sexual abuse that was brought to light by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse,” said Ms Legena.

“We must honour the survivors, and stand by them so that their courage in fighting for justice can help to lead to a future where no child has to go through this again – every child has the right to live free from fear and violence.

“Institutions must step up and ensure that such atrocities, which devastated children, families and communities, never occur again.”
