Nicole Rodger is the Program Manager for Education & Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD), with projects focused on Asia, the Pacific and Eastern and Southern Africa. These projects have an emphasis on holistic, integrated, community-led approaches, which see to prove that 100% of disadvantaged children in targeted high-poverty communities can achieve child wellbeing indicators and school success through effective quality early childhood and basic education supports. In her work, Nicole is responsible for managing projects through the project cycle, including design, monitoring, capacity building, partnership development and technical support. Nicole also contributes to the ECCD community of practice within Plan International and externally, through conference presentations and published articles. Nicole has been the co-convenor of the ACFID Education Community of Practice since 2011, and in 2014 she led the production of a case study publication of Australian NGOs' work in education.

Nicole has worked in the international development sector for more than ten years, including work for the Lutheran World Federation in Mozambique and Oxfam Australia. Nicole has been with Plan International Australia for more than nine years, beginning her work in the Marketing & Fundraising department, before taking up her role in the International Programs team in 2009. with a background in politics and law, she is interested in rights-based approaches to development and inclusive practices that reach the most marginalised. Nicole has supported the development of a range of resource materials and curriculum guides for early childhood programs on the themes of parenting, early learning programs, transition to primary school support, increasing disability inclusion, analysing and strengthening gender dimensions in ECCD and enhancing child protection through ECCD.
