Lyndene Wan’s role is to oversee Plan International Australia’s operations in the Pacific Region, including direct program implementation, and programs delivered in collaboration with government and local NGO partners. Lyndene manages a team of staff based in Papua New Guinea, and also develops and manages Plan International Australia’s relationships with government representatives, partner organisations and other stakeholders in five Pacific countries. As a member of the Program Management Team, Lyndene also provides input to portfolio and strategy development.
Lyndene has been working in the international development sector for approximately twenty years. Her in-Australia work has included advocacy initiatives in support of asylum seeker settlement, the integration of students with disabilities in tertiary institutions, the provision of services for people with HIV/AIDS, and support for development initiatives in Africa and Asia. Her oversees work has included direct management of programs implemented by UN agencies, local and international NGOs, and government departments. Lyndene's work has spanned initiatives in Africa (Ethiopia, Uganda, South Africa, Zimbabwe), Asia (Afghanistan, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Timor-Leste, Vietnam) and the Pacific (Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands).
