WE NEED YOUR HELP TO GET THERE

Makwanpur District is a remote, mountainous region in rural Nepal.

It was one of the worst affected areas during the earthquake - roads were ruined, homes collapsed and crops died. Despite this devastation, children wanted to learn.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO RAISE $200,000 BY 30 APRIL 2017.

Suryodaya Secondary School in Makwanpur District was one of 7,000 schools that were completely or significantly destroyed. To this day, millions of children are still being taught in makeshift classrooms.

"OUR SCHOOL COLLAPSED. THE EARTHQUAKE DESTROYED EVERYTHING. I WANT TO BE AN ARCHITECT WHEN I GROW UP SO I CAN BUILD EARTHQUAKE RESISTANT BUILDINGS"
- SUSMA, A STUDENT IN DOLAKHA

With your generosity, we can rebuild Suryodaya Secondary School and give children access to a safe and permanent learning environment.

“Over the years, I've visited many communities in Nepal where Plan International has been working and I've seen first-hand how transformative our donations have been. When children have access to education, they are more likely to overcome disadvantage - and this has a flow on effect for their families and the wider community.”

"I have always felt that people are generous and like to help where they can, especially when they feel a connection. And through Plan International, we really connect with the children directly and feel a great sense of empathy for their lives. We get to know them through cards and letters; it makes me keen to help them more."

“I hope you can join me as we rebuild Suryodaya Secondary School.”

"Show your support for the children who have already lost so much. It's an exciting project to be a part of, and I hope you can join me as we rebuild Suryodaya Secondary School."
