Girls are missing class to help feed their families
Making sure your child has enough food? Or giving them an education? It shouldn’t be a choice. But without money for even the most basic foods, too many children are spending their time working in the fields to support their families instead of going to school. With your help, we can change this. By providing a little extra food for children and their families, we can make sure they stay in school, and thrive.
Plan International works for a just world for children and equality for girls; a vision you can help make a reality in Cambodia. Will you support us?
Girls in Cambodia still face an uncertain future. But you can change that.
Sreika is full of potential. But despite being one of the brightest kids in her class, she’s frequently pulled out of school to help earn money for food. Three months a year, she follows her parents to remote cassava farms to work. The more school Sreika misses, the more she falls behind – and the more her natural gift for maths goes to waste.
But it doesn’t need to be this way. You can help change Sreika’s future forever.
Two incredible girls, two very different futures
Sokhat and Sreika were on very similar life paths; struggling families, missed meals, uncertain futures.
But thanks to donations from generous people like you, here’s Sokhat now:
Sokhat now receives breakfast at school, and extra rice and oil to take home to her family. She’s attending school, and thriving.
Sokhat’s future looks bright. But we’re not stopping until all girls can stay in school. With your support, we can give girls like Sreika the same opportunity.
Donate today to multiply your gift by 10
No girl should have to choose between food and education. You can help ensure girls like Sreika spend their childhood at school, not working in the fields.
As well as helping a girl in Cambodia get the education she deserves, there’s another reason to give right away. If you make a donation, it’ll be multiplied by up to 10 times by the World Food Programme.
