Famine is spreading
across Africa

See how you can help

Children are starving. Please help them before it’s too late.

On 20 February 2017 famine was declared in areas of south Sudan. This is the first time famine has been declared anywhere in the world in the last 6 years.

But it’s not only South Sudan that is facing a crisis. A series of severe droughts have left millions of people in East Africa at risk of hunger and in urgent need of help.

Already far too many people are dying every day. Of these its women and girls that are at most risk.

War, economic collapse and terrible drought have wiped out the country’s food supplies and left mothers struggling to keep their babies and children alive.

As many as 16 million people in the East Africa region are on the brink of starvation and urgently need food aid.

The scale of the crisis is staggering. And without immediate action, it’s set to spread, killing even more children across North and East Africa.

Plan International is already on the ground, delivering lifesaving food parcels to the worst-hit parts of South Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya and Zimbabwe.

Your support is urgently needed to deliver more food and help families rebuild their livelihoods.

Children need you now more than ever
