What is Giving Day?
Join us on October 11, 2024 for our Giving Day celebration! International Day of the Girl is a special day when we rally our supporters to focus on the power and potential of girls. It is a day of empowerment where we collectively strive to make a lasting impact by amplifying the potential of girls across the globe.
Globally, we’ve made enormous leaps in bridging gender inequalities. Together with our supporters, we’ve provided life-saving emergency aid for girls and their families, fought against early and coerced child marriage, enabled access to education in regions struck by conflict, and spurred on young women’s entrepreneurial spirit. We are proud of the progress we’ve all made and we’re determined to accomplish more. We’re only just getting started!
But the fight is far from over. Ongoing global conflicts and crises threaten to set us back. Yet, even in the face of adversity, we stand undeterred. We will never give up.
That’s why once a year, we call on all Australians to step up and take action.

How does match funding work?*
The way the match funding works is simple, but powerful.
Your Giving Day Champion contribution can help deliver life-saving emergency shelter and essential supplies, and critical access to education to girls in crisis. It will be pooled with those of other Giving Day Champions into a special Match Fund and every dollar in this fund will be offered as a motivational match for others to donate too, effectively doubling the impact.

*Should we raise more than the maximum Match Fund amount required to make our Giving Day a success, never fear; we will use your generous gift to bolster our Christmas Appeal 2024 matched fund, which currently stands at $81,000 but which we would like to get to $100,000.
