The Insight Group recruits support for East Timor

Executive recruitment company The Insight Group has committed annual funding to Plan to support a water and environmental sanitation project in East Timor.  With seed funding of $30,000 at the commencement of the project, The Insight Group have continued to support the project even whilst it was put on hold during the 2006 civil unrest.

When the Directors of The Insight Group elected to support the project they recognised that the area was recovering from years of civil unrest.  Yet they could not have foreseen the renewal of civil unrest which resulted in an uprising in the middle of 2006, occurring just the week before Director Rohan Carr was due to visit the area.

Whilst Rohan’s trip had to be postponed it only increased his commitment to the region

As a father of two I am passionately committed to providing opportunities so that all children may have the chance to realize their potential.  I am conscious of the good fortune afforded to my family and would like to share our company’s success with those less fortunate.  It is my hope that our example will help other similar sized companies to recognise the role they can play in addressing global poverty.  You don’t have to be on Australia’s Top 500 company list to make a difference.  The Insight Group is proud of the commitment we have been able to make.

The East Timor water and environmental sanitation project is delivered in conjunction with Water Aid Australia and has since secured additional corporate support from print company Abacus Graphics and Coffex, simply better coffee.
