Clearly there is a need for campaigning and advocacy in a world where 30,000 children die daily from preventable diseases, where millions miss out on learning to read and write, thousands are trafficked across borders for the sex trade, and where children are left to raise themselves when their parents die from HIV/AIDS.
We need changes both at a global and local level if children's lives are to be improved.

Campaigning at Plan is about collective action to improve the lives of children. It's about raising understanding and support for people who are often disregarded, and have difficulty having their opinion listened to.
Currently Plan is campaigning and/or advocating on the following issues:
Because I am a Girl: The State of the World's Girls » Plan is publishing the State of the World's Girls report series to bring global attention to the fact that progress towards meeting the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) - the goals set by the world's governments in 2000 to halve world poverty by 2015 - is being hampered by a continued lack of investment in girls and young women.
Universal Birth Registration » Plan is campaigning at the local and national level to give children the fundamental right to an identity.

For just over $1 a day you can make a lasting difference to your sponsored child and their whole community.

Your regular donation could help support HIV/AIDS orphans, provide education to children in slums or protect vulnerable children from trafficking and abuse.
