This project is empowering families with the skills needed to overcome food shortages. By converting to organic farming techniques, families are reducing expenses, increasing crop yields and income and starting to break the cycle of poverty.

Many families in Northern Samar are farmers trapped in poverty by a cycle of poor rice yields, depleted soils and crops damaged by frequent drought, floods and typhoons. Families often become overwhelmed by debt and struggle to feed themselves, and pay for school fees and healthcare.
Thanks to your support, Plan is educating families about organic crops and alternative farming techniques, so that they can grow a diverse range of nutritious, organic food to eat and sell.
