Plan is working at the grassroots level in Pakistan to empower communities to bring real and lasting change, so that their children have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Plan began working in Pakistan in 1997 and currently works with community-based organisations, government departments, agencies, international and local non-government organisations in five program areas which aim to address the following issues affecting children:

Plan Pakistan works improve general healthcare services for children and women. Plan also assists health-awareness programs for women, sexual and reproductive health for adolescents and promotes positive water and sanitation practices.
With more than half of Pakistanis under the age of 18 years of age, Plan Pakistan works to improve access to quality education through a school improvement program. This program includes promoting child and adult involvement, active leadership and improving teaching practices and educational facilities.
Approximately 24% of the Pakistani population lives below the poverty line. Plan Pakistan provides micro finance, educational and advisory services, including vocational and technical skills training for women and men, particularly in the areas of agriculture and food production.
Plan Pakistan works to combat instances of child neglect, abuse or exploitation by raising awareness within the public and government organisations of child rights and birth registration and advocating child involvement in decision making practices.
