This project is helping to ensure Indonesian children are raised in nurturing and stimulating environments, and that they are healthy and prepared for school.
Sikka and Lembata districts
January 20120 - June 2013
AU$30,000
Very few Indonesian children in rural areas attend preschool, and primary school dropout rates are high. Malnutrition during the early years, poor health and disease, and lack of stimulation can inhibit a child’s development.
Thanks to your support, Plan is working in poor, rural and remote areas in the east of the country where understanding of the importance of child development is limited and under nutrition is having an adverse effect on children's development. Plan is supporting communities, parents, caregivers and government to take the lead in deciding what is best for their children, and provide the care that they need in order to reach their full potential.
