Bangladesh: Community Learning Program


The Bangladesh Community Learning Program focuses on three key areas of; increasing awareness and implementation of Early Childhood Care and development (ECCD) and quality basic education activities, increasing the use of quality learning methods and materials by school teachers, and developing resources to strengthen national and local policy.

Students involved in the Community Learning Program Supplementary materials developed to complement the government-set curriculum - used by children with learning difficulties A public declaration which commits that all children in the community will receive a basic education. Locally made learning resources - hand puppets.
Children in rural Bangladesh using supplementary learning materials. Moving away from rote teaching methods which assume that being able to memorise represents understanding and knowledge. The Community Learning Program offers children in Bangladesh child-friendly ways of learning such as working in groups. Active participation of students.
Early Childhood Care and Development resources made by community members in Plan assisted project areas.
