Last year our friends at The Oaktree Foundation visited Timor-Leste to see our Youth Livelihoods program in action.
More than 75 per cent of people in Timor-Leste are under 30 years old, and youth unemployment is well above 50 per cent.
With support from The Oaktree Foundation, Plan is providing training and support to hundreds of young people in the Aileu District so they can learn how to run small businesses to provide for themselves and their families. Activities range from coffee production through to vegetable, chicken, goat and fish farming.
