Face to Face fundraising: the facts

20-February-2012

Our Chief Executive, Ian Wishart (centre) spent three days on the street with our face to face fundraisers to experience firsthand the work they do to encourage Australians to sponsor a child.

Face to Face appeals work because:

  • Hundreds of thousands more Australians have been able to make a difference to important causes here and overseas – such as Plan’s work with children and their communities
  • While one-off donations are great, we need a stable, ongoing and reliable income stream that allows us to budget for programs, hence the need to acquire support from regular givers.
  • As a non-religious and non-political NGO, Plan must proactively seek donations from the public to achieve its goals and carry out our much needed work.
  • People can have a personal interaction with a Plan representative who is passionate and knowledgeable.
  • It is a responsible and cost-effective method of fundraising as the cost is relative to the amount of supporters who sign up – that is, we only pay for what we get!
  • Our fundraisers must abide by a strict code of conduct.
