As the drought intensifies across the Horn of Africa, more communities are being forced to travel long distances in search of food and water, tasks that are usually carried out by women.
Plan is responding across Ethiopia, Kenya, and South Sudan. Last week, Global Disaster Response Coordinator Dr Unni Krishnan visited the Borana region of southern Ethiopia where Plan is now providing urgent food and water, along with working with communities to help them re-establish their farming opportunities.
Plan's response in this area is being funded by donations from the Australian public and a grant from the Australian Government.
