Emily Booker, a Sydney-based development and communications consultant with over 25 years experience, recently joined the Plan Australia Board. Emily spent the first decade of her career as a journalist moving from print into television where she reported on current affairs for Channel 10 and Channel 7 in Sydney. Emily then joined UNICEF and worked from the New York headquarters.
Her career spanned more than 13 years beginning as UNICEF radio and television communications officer, then chief of media relations, communications deputy director and finally UNICEF East Asia and Pacific regional communications director. Emily replaces Shaun Mays who resigned from the Board due to the demands of his new role as CEO of Deutshe Asset Management.
