John Farnham joins Tsunami Benefit Concert

John Farnham Following the mega-successful Tom and John Tour, John Farnham joins the star-studded line-up of the Melbourne Tsunami Benefit Concert on Sunday 27th February at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.

Undoubtedly Australia.s top performing artist, John.s career spans almost four decades. His Whispering Jack album continues to be Australia's biggest selling album by a local artist and his Last Time Tour (2002-2003) is credited as the biggest grossing tour in Australian history.

John joins a spectacular line-up featuring Daddy Cool, who have chosen this special event to reform for the first time in 30 years, Aussie rock legends Cold Chisel and the timeless Billy Thorpe and the original Sunbury Aztecs. These icons of Australian rock-n-roll will appear on stage for one performance only to support this special benefit which is part of the third annual Melbourne Music Festival.

And on the second stage is a stellar line-up of Nessa Morgan, Marie Gabrielle (USA), Kylie Auldist, The Sparrows, The Dili Allstars, Bomba and Josh Owen. This stage will be located in the King.s Domain, enabling patrons to relax in the shade of the trees, and enjoy one of Melbourne's most stunning settings.

Proceeds from the Tsunami Benefit Concert will be distributed to Plan and other charities involved in rebuilding projects in tsunami affected countries such as Sri Lanka, Indonesia and India. To ensure that maximum funds are raised, suppliers and stakeholders involved in the event are either working free of charge or at cost, or waiving fees.

Plan will use the funds generated to support its project of building child friendly townships in Hambantota Sri Lanka where approximately 4,500 lives were lost.
