Local legends, Daddy Cool, Cold Chisel and Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs will join international stars Michael Franti and Spearhead to headline a tsunami benefit concert on Sunday 27 February with proceeds going to Plan.
The benefit concert is being held as part of the third Melbourne International Music Festival which will run over 2 days the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. The Festival has been a popular event for music lovers since it began in 2003 as the Melbourne International Music and Blues Festival.
All proceeds from the Sunday benefit will be donated to Plan and other agencies involved in tsunami aid and relief. Plan will use the funds generated to support its project of building child friendly townships in Hambantota Sri Lanka where approximately 4,500 lives were lost.
The Sunday benefit will be preceded by a day of sensational music with headline acts from both Australia and overseas performing on two stages at the bowl including headliners The Doors for their first ever performance in Australia and Blondie.
Tickets go on sale 31 January 2005 from www.Ticketmaster7.com.
