Total revenue of $19,305,195 (2004 $14,471,154) was 33 per cent higher than last year due to continued growth in Plan.
Australia's core revenue of sponsorship income, government grants and appeals. Sponsorship income of $12,958,413 (2004 $10,928,029) increased by 19 per cent.
Income from government grants of $2,856,589 (2004 $2,319,476) was 23 per cent higher than the previous year.
The Tsunami Rebuilding Asia Appeal contributed $2,181,772 towards total revenue of which $1,920,861 was remitted to Plan International for program expenditure. The remainder was expended on local program support and administration costs of $152,634 and the balance $108,277 placed in a specific tsunami reserve.
Total sponsorships of 34,438 (2004 30,849) increased by 12 per cent and continued the strong growth by the organisation over recent years to reach its highest ever number of sponsored children.
