Watch Jamie's Journey to Uganda

Jamie Durie with ZaitunaWe know him as a television presenter, award-winning landscape designer and author, but Jamie Durie is also a humanitarian. As a Plan Ambassador and child sponsor, Jamie witnesses first hand the impact HIV and AIDS are having on children and families in Uganda, East Africa.

But his journey also shows hope through the personal stories of: Zaituna, an orphan and a teenage mother who must also raise her two siblings; Eunice, a mother of four, who has lived with HIV for 18 years; and Doreen, a child who is sick with TB and AIDS, but with help is fighting back.

Through their soul-searching personal stories and meeting other everyday, but incredibly inspiring Ugandans, Jamie learns how with support from Plan, they have overcome insurmountable odds.

Jamie’s journey is at times confronting, but ultimately it’s a life-affirming journey of hope for Uganda’s children.
