Help Plan conduct community awareness campaigns on Early
Childhood Care and Development so that families and caregivers
understand the need for the healthy development and education of
young children during their crucial first eight years.
Support the training of adults in Bangladesh in
child-friendly, participatory learning techniques so that children
can learn in an interactive and fun environment in groups run
outside of school hours.
Support environmental health and hygiene education in East
Timor so that communities develop good hygiene practices which will
help prevent disease and promote a clean environment.
Help improve knowledge and respect amongst community
members and leaders on laws of marriage, divorce, wills and
inheritance to leave children less vulnerable in the event of the
death of one or both parents.
Support early childhood care centres run by parents and
trained caregivers in Rajasthan, which increase children’s lifelong
chances of good health, educational success and social
adjustment.
Help pay for a community clean water supply system,
protecting households from disease and chronic illnesses like
diarrhoea, malaria and dengue fever, which can kill small
children.
Support the training of community based groups of home
based carers, who visit people in their homes to assist those who
are ill, and their caregivers, with home nursing, counselling and
advice on nutrition.
Support developments in agricultural and livestock
production, to help improve livelihood opportunities and nutrition
for families affected by HIV and AIDS.
