You’ve worn the white band. You’ve visited the website. You’ve watched the Make Poverty History concert live or on TV. What’s next?
2007 marks half-time on progress towards the Millennium Development Goals (2000-2015).
2007 is also an election year.
There’s no better time to contact a politician and tell them you want action in the fight against poverty. Make Poverty History will continue to utilise creative online actions, and public events to get our message across. (And we'll be telling you more about what we have planned in the next email).
But research has shown that nothing influences a politician more than a personal letter (or even a visit) from the people who elect them.
Make Poverty History’s Letter Writing Guide makes it easy. It has all the background information you need, plus advice on how to write an effective letter. Writing the letter will take half an hour of your life, and could be one of the most powerful actions you take against poverty this year!
